To bleach the mind:
Ground scarab beetle, not in Snape's inventory. Substitute: Ground black beetle, cut up ginger root, armadillo bile (that was in your inventory but not a bleeding beetle?), jobberknoll feathers.
Armadillo bile and ginger root are most commonly used in wit-sharpening potions, they help the mind think more clearly. Now, normally the scarab beetle is used in potions that deal with memory, but we didn't have any and actually, the black beetle worked a lot better for this particular goal. Jobberknoll feathers are also most commonly used in memory potions, both enhancing the memory and forgetfulness, but I've found that if you boil them, they have a much more desirable effect. My entire memory hasn't been compromised, but I do have a hard time remembering what I ate for breakfast this morning (small doses, you see). I think I'll call this the mind successfully being bleached, without any actual harm coming to the person. Also, if you wish to try it out yourself, you'll be wanting to aim for a very nice off-yellow.

Hello, out there. It's been awhile. Forever, actually, since I've never bothered to use this thing until now. I've had better things to do? That's a total lie. In the five years that I've been a reincarnate, I haven't done much more than skip class, get high and get by. Oh, and occasionally renting porn out to the pervy video store customers of Boulder, Colorado. Life is delightfully void of any real expectations and I'm quite enjoying myself, but I actually got bored enough today (Otto's at work for once) to pull this thing out and actually get in touch with the reincarnate world.
